ToyPizza started as a YouTube channel that reviewed toys, but eventually branched out into creating their own action figures. Run by Jesse DeStasio and Nicky Fung, they were able to amass a dedicated following. They now have over a dozen figure molds with tons of colorways and combinations!
In 2017, Jesse approached Gavin about drawing a postcard comic that would ship with the figures, giving the characters a story and a personality. This would become a fruitful partnership, as Gavin would draw over 10 postcards, many promotional illustrations, and 4 full length comic adventures for the brand. He would even help with online order fulfilment, package design, and even get to design the colorways of several figures.
They still work together to this day!
